A self-initiated alternative poster design for Celine Song's acclaimed film Past Lives (A24, 2023).
CONCEPT
The composition layers a monochrome close-up of the two leads embracing with two small child figures walking below — visually collapsing past and present into a single image to reflect the film's central theme of memory, distance, and paths not taken. Footprints trailing across the lower half of the poster reinforce the sense of time passing and journeys diverging. A deliberately muted, textured palette keeps the mood melancholic and intimate.
